Put your skin on an almond diet with this fabulous pack

Unbox The Truth

A lesser known fact about me, masking is my cardio and I am OBSESSED with it !
I usually apply a face mask everyday, even carry a few with me on holidays. Fruit pulp, vegetable peels, powdered egg shells, sheet masks, rubber masks, charcoal peel off, garlic based ( totally avoidable !) to my last weirdest one – snail slime mask , I have tried them all. All except for chemical peels and anything that involves me going to a clinic to get acids slathered on my face. Snail slime was awesome by the way !
I have a shelf stuffed to its limit with face packs from everywhere – right from good old Biotique and Kama to SK II  and Laneige to the newest entrant on our shores Glamglow and also plenty of home made ones which are my absolute favourite. Since I am a hoarder and not apologetic about it, there are a few products which completely nail my expectations- in terms of quality and price. I would like to clarify that this is not a sponsored post, its merely my experience with the product.

One of them this year was the Just Herbs brand of Indian luxury Ayurvedic skincare, they have revamped all their products with new packaging and added many more items to their list. Their entire range is herbal, cruelty free and certified organic by the ECOCERT which is one of the largest organic certification organisations in the world.
Since this brand is not easily available in stores , I ordered for the Instaglow Almond Complexion pack on Nykaa without any expectations. I was so impressed with it, I actually ordered for another 4 products from the brand the next day.

The main ingredients in the pack are liquorice, Indian madder , cinnamon and obviously almonds. Indian madder is a herb commonly known as manjith or manjishta in Hindi and used to treat acne and a slew of other skin problems.

A detailed list of the ingredients in the pack-
Sweet almond oil 1%, liquorice 1%, indian madder 1%, holy basil 1%, cinnamon 1%, neem* 2%, turmeric 2%, bitter orange peel 2%, symplocos bark 2%, honey 1%, sandalwood ext. 1%, natrium boricum 1%, zinc oxide 1%. aqua, alovera leaf juice*, vegetable glycerine*, indian volcanic clay, bentonite clay, china clay, natural preservative blend of herbs and essential oils, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate.Contains certified organic cold-pressed almond oil, neem, aloe vera juice and vegetable glycerine.

What sets this apart from the usual face packs available in the market is the generous amount ( 150 gms ) which retails at  ₹ 525 on the product site .
It will easily last you around 6 months since the consistency of the pack is rather thick and you need just a small amount for the entire face and neck. I have had to bin several highly priced mud based packs in the past because the contents have dried out in a couple of weeks, not happened with this one.

Deliciously thick and gooey consistency

How to use-

• Cleanse your face as you would normally.
• Apply on face and neck for around 15 minutes.
• Do not leave the pack on endlessly and create a parched desert on your face, it will result in loss of moisture and nutrients from your skin.
• Just around the time you feel it tightening on your skin, wash with water and gently massage with finger tips till all product is removed.
• Pat your face dry and apply a moisturiser of your choice.

It leaves your skin clean, hydrated and supple- a must do during these dry windy days.

Note-
• Even 100% herbal products can cause skin irritation for a few, so always do a patch test on your hand before proceeding to your face.
• If you find the product too drying for your liking, add a bit of milk cream or curd before application.

The Just Herbs Almond glow masks ticks almost all the boxes when it comes to choosing the right face mask. So what are you waiting for ? Go and order one for yourself right away!

Hey Divya, that was really informative. I’m going through a bad patch with my skin and am trying to avoid dermatologists! Would you recommend this for oily skin?

      hey Jayanti!
This pack is great for oily skin since it contains bentonite clay and Indian volcanic clay ( Multani mitti), also has neem and aloe vera which are great for treating acne. Hope it works for you ! but please don’t avoid going to a dermatologist , it could be a hormonal issue, which cannot be rectified even with a million creams and packs.
